Organic Peppermint Leaf Cut & Sifted (Mentha x piperita)
To bring out the best character, prepare Peppermint as an infusion ~ steeped, not simmered or boiled.
Mason jar method (more work, stronger infusion) Per cup of tea desired, add 1½ teaspoons of Peppermint to a heat-safe mason jar, then pour in one cup of freshly boiled water and secure the lid. Let steep for at least 30 minutes, shaking briefly every 5 minutes, then strain through a coffee filter.
In a teapot or cup Per cup of tea desired, add 1½ teaspoons of Peppermint to a tea strainer or teaball placed in your teapot or cup. Pour in one cup of freshly boiled water and cover. Let steep for 5 to 10 minutes. For larger quantities, use the same ratio.
