Warm and aromatic, Korintje Cinnamon is more properly called Cassia. It’s what most North Americans associate with baking, cinnamon buns and red heart candies.

For Indonesian farmers, Cassia is a generational crop ~ used as a rainy-day fund ~ the trees are usually grown along fencerows and non-arable places to be harvested every 20-50 years. The trees are re-planted for the next generation of farmers. Once stripped, the inner bark is harvested and naturally curls as it dries to form a traditional cinnamon stick.

In your teacup, you’ll get a deep, spicy and sweet amber infusion. The taste is both bold yet comforting ~ with a lively warmth that deepens as the tea steeps. It’s a balanced tea with a smooth and brightening finish.

Use spring or filtered water. Good water is an essential part of brewing a great cup of tea.

Relax. Some of the most enjoyable aspects of tea are the calmness and ritual that surround it. Take some time for tea!

Quick Brew Directions: Pour freshly boiled water over tea bags in your chosen mug, cover, and let steep 3 to 5 minutes to taste.

Full Strength (infusion) Directions: Cassia (cinnamon) is delicate ~ best when exposed to high temperatures for only a short period of time. Be sure that your water is at a rolling boil when you pour it over your tea bags. Use one tea bag per cup of boiling water, cover and steep for 7-12 minutes.
