Organic Ashwagandha Root (Withania somnifora)
Directions
Directions Ashwagandha root is tough, and to bring out its best properties, it’s important to simmer it or expose it to heat over time. When brewed this way, the result is called a decoction.
Stovetop Decoction (more work, more potent) Combine 1 teaspoon of Ashwagandha per cup of water in a stainless steel or glass pot. Cover and bring to a boil, then simmer 10 to 20 minutes. Strain with a coffee filter.
Mason Jar Method (easier and less potent) Per cup of tea desired, add 1 teaspoon of Ashwagandha and one cup of freshly boiled water to a mason jar and secure the lid. Let steep for at least 30 minutes and shake vigorously every 5 minutes or so. Strain with a coffee filter. With either method, extra tea can be stored in a covered glass jar in the refrigerator for a few days.
