Description
Delicate and expressive, Eyebright grows in pastures and meadows throughout Europe. The flower has the appearance of a bloodshot eye with purple stripes and yellow spots. This herb is semi-parasitic and is picky about where it grows ~ having success when suckers can attach themselves to certain grass roots from which it obtains nutrients. Its blossoms catch the eye whenever they pop up in field or pasture.
In the cup, Eyebright holds a light golden hue with a bitter edge that some enjoy. It has a clean yet grassy tone with a soft texture ~ a very quiet yet simple infusion that reflects beautifully on the quiet meadows where it grows.
