The Narrow-Leaf Purple Coneflower, grows wild on the prairies of North America. With tall stems and purple-pink petals, it is the most valued of a dozen Echinacea species.

Native to the prairies, this herb was important to Indigenous cultures. Once transported to Europe, it quickly became naturalized and today often finds a place in gardens and kitchens alike.

As a tea, it brews clean and earthy with soft floral notes. Good-quality Echinacea will make your tongue tingle ~ a natural sign of freshness. The cup glows light amber, with gentle bitterness and a touch of grassy sweetness that lingers on the finish.

Use spring or filtered water. Good water is an essential part of brewing a great cup of tea.

Quick Brew Directions: Pour freshly boiled water over tea bags in your chosen mug, cover, and let steep 3 to 5 minutes to taste. 

Full Strength (infusion) Directions: Echinacea is a delicate herb ~ best when exposed to high temperatures for only a short period of time. Be sure that your water is at a rolling boil when you pour it over your tea bags. Use one tea bag per cup of boiling water, cover and steep for 7–12 minutes.
