Description
It is a perennial herbaceous vine common to most South East Asian countries. The bright blue petals from its flowers have been used as an ingredient in herbal tea drinks throughout the region for centuries. As a tea, the flavour has been described as "earthy and woody" similar to a green tea.
The blue flower imparts its blue colour when steeped in warm or hot water, leading it to being used as a dye.
