Description
Originating in Northern Asia, Korea, and Japan, Astragalus is well known and revered amongst Chinese herbalists. Its Chinese name is Huang Qi which means 'yellow leader', referring to the root's yellow color. Usually only the roots are used, tasting slightly sweet and bean-like.
Astragalus root traditionally used in soups, extracts or capsules. In powder form, it may be sprinkled on food or whipped into a shake or smoothie. Mix it with Angelica or Licorisce for a refreshing drink.
