Description

Chamomile takes its name from the Greek word for “ground apple,” a nod to the flower's apple-like fragrance. This modest plant has been revered since ancient Egypt, where it was dedicated to the sun god, and later celebrated in Greek, Roman, and European traditions.

Its golden blossoms steep into a cup that is light, fragrant, and gently floral. The taste is smooth and naturally sweet with apple notes and a clean finish. Chamomile is enjoyed both on its own and in blends ~ a timeless infusion with apple-kissed aroma and an easy, clean finish in every sip.

Directions

To bring out the delicate character, prepare Chamomile as an infusion ~ steeped, not simmered or boiled.

Mason jar method (more work, stronger infusion) Per cup of tea desired, add 1½ teaspoons of Chamomile to a heat-safe mason jar, then pour in one cup of freshly boiled water and secure the lid. Let steep for at least 30 minutes, shaking briefly every 5 minutes, then strain through a coffee filter.

In a teapot or cup Per cup of tea desired, add 1½ teaspoons of Chamomile to a tea strainer or teaball placed in your teapot or cup. Pour in one cup of freshly boiled water and cover. Let steep for 5 to 10 minutes. For larger quantities, use the same ratio.
