Description
Native to North America and Eruope, Nettle can be found with ease in most abandoned fields and hedgerows. Stinging Nettle (Urtica Dioica) is the most common species; deriving its name from tiny stinging hairs on the tops and edges of the leaves and stalks - they don't sting very much once dried, and not at all once boiled or made into tea. Harvested in its young stage, good quality nettle should be light green - with a light vegetable flavour.
Used as a nutritious food in many cultures and traditions, Nettle is also a very important herb. We recommend a great cut of tea to start.
