Cornsilkk is the hair that extends from the top of corn cobs and turns brown as the cobs are ready to eat. Corn (and cornsilk's herbal use) was taken from America back to Europe shortly after Europeans arrived - where it became part of European herbology as well.

To harvest your own cornsilk, just save and dry the silk you get while shucking fresh corn. Good cornsilk should taste like the essence of corn - sweet slightly bitter, and moist.

Makes a nice cup of tea and can also be made into tincture.
