Description
This west Mediterranean native was one of the principal herbs used by the ancient Greeks and Romans; its fresh, clean scent made it one of their favourite bath water additives. Lavender is often confused with Lavandin - a nearly identical looking flower with large amounts of camphor.
By contrast, true lavender smells delicate, fresh and woodsy. It's in high demand, the cornerstone of the essential oil market and is used in cosmetics, soaps, lotions, and lavender water. There are also many culinary uses, Lavender is a great cooking herb, and makes a nice relaxing cup of tea. Enjoy!
