Description
The Elder tree has been with mankind a very long time and is very important in herbology - it is mentioned in most herb manuals, even in the British comedy troupe Monty Python's skit. It grows to 10 meters, producing cream-white flowers in late spring which give way to bunches of purplish black berries in early autumn. In Europe, the flowers were used for tea, confections, and liquor. In North America, the tasty and sweet berries are more often used to make intense purple tea, syrups and tinctures.
