Description
A perennial native of central and eastern North America, Black Cohosh is a popular herb in the First Nations people's culture. Cohosh is algonquian for 'rough', a description of the root's texture.
The plant produces slender and tall flower spikes fo whispy white flowers between June and September. The strong smell of these flowers has been known to effetively repel insect; earning this plant a nickname of Bugbane.
