Description
Black, green and white tea all orginate from the same plant - Camellia sinensis. It's a species of evergreen flowering shrub whose leaves and leaf buds are used to produce tea. After harvesting, the leaves are treated with varying levels of fermentation/oxidation and roasting: black tea being the most oxidized, white the least, and green somewhere in between. Ceylon tea is black tea harvested from the highlands of Sri Lanka. The unique geography and climate produce a strong tea with bold flavour that can be enjoyed iced or hot.
