The plant is native to North Africa and is now naturalized to India - the world's largest senna-producing country. Known as Alexandrian Senna, it grows to 3 feet high with pale green stems and brittle, olivve green leaflets. Senna leaves are usually consumed as tea and frequently combined with aromatic herbs such as Cinnamon, Ginger, Anise, and Fennel. Try adding fruit for something different.
